Stuck (Jennie Allen)

So many of us live stuck. Stuck in trying to seem perfect. Stuck in sadness. Stuck feeling numb. Stuck pursuing more stuff to make us happy. These stuck places often go unattended inside of us and they are shaping our lives more than we would like to think. We've been trying to fix this feeling with everything but...God. He has a plan for these spaces inside of us, but we have to go to Him. Stuck is a journey to take an honest look at the fight going on inside, leading us to the God who has a plan to restore us.

Stuck (Jennie Allen)
  • S1: Introduction (Stuck)

There is a tension that we feel. Most of us know we are stuck and imperfect, broken. But focusing on the reality of our brokenness usually brings about one of two disconcerting responses: we either run to the dark place of rebellion or to the seemingly safe place of covering it up. Shame follows ...

  • S2: Broken (Stuck)

We were designed to come to the end of ourselves again and again and again, to slip down the rungs of our ladder, until maybe, after years of reaching the end of myself, I would consider that I had a problem...that I might be stuck. I might need God. Dig into Romans 8 and face your need to be bro...

  • S3: Mad (Stuck)

Anger is our reaction when we feel our rights are being taken from us. We get angry about not getting what we think we deserve. The problem with anger is really what we believe about God. • S6: Overwhelmed (Stuck)

God has an assignment for each one of us, and not because He wants us to have more to do. In fact, running around and doing every good thing is not what He wants from us. He is not pleased with random sacrificial service. He is pleased with obedience. With all the choices and decisions we have to...

  • S7: Sad (Stuck)

We live in such disappointment when our dreams are not fulfilled, as if God owes us something here and now. And oftentimes depression and discontentment rise out of our expectations for happy, fulfilling lives here on earth rather than the hope of eternity with our God in heaven. We see in Romans...

  • S8: Unstuck (Stuck)

The overarching question of this study is . . . Are you willing to die? Because until our pride, our expectations, our plans, our desires, our will, our idols, and our very self dies . . . we are stuck. Explore John 15 to gain a bigger view of God, to see what he wants from us, to see our need fo...
