The seventh and final reason in Jeff’s cumulative case for C.S. Lewis' broad impact is that he was not ordinary … and neither are you. This will be a dive into Lewis' sermon, The Weight of Glory. This sermon is considered by some to be one of the greatest ever preached in the West. His big idea was that there are no ordinary people. Because of the image of God in humans and the fact that Christ chose to die for them, they have been created for glory. The problem is that they don’t know it. The task of the follower of Jesus is to understand that he has been created for much more than mere existence and so has his neighbor. Lewis holds that understanding this will compel us to live more fully and create the same desire in others as well.
