A Pretty Big Deal (Wonderhunt Short Films)
4m 58s
Our God delights in peculiar things. But the most peculiar thing is how much he delights in us! Megan has one gem of a dad — genuine, funny, and affectionate. Never doubting that they were loved, Megan and her sister, Kimi, grew up knowing that their dad, Fred, cared deeply about his kids. His girls have always been talented, but if Fred was ever going to brag about them for something, it was about who they were becoming. Every year, Fred makes a pretty big deal out of his girls on their birthdays, including a decades-long tradition of dancing the “birthday dance” in his blue polyester suit. Why does he dance? Because according to Fred, the biggest cause for celebration isn’t what his kids do; it’s simply that his kids exist. A Pretty Big Deal poses the question: What if our Heavenly Father is a little like Fred, delighting in different things than everyone else? And what if the thing he most delights in has nothing at all to do with what we do but is simply rooted in who we are?
